The 2026 edition of the Summer School Hues of Writing (HoW), organised by the University of Pisa’s Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics within the framework of the Excellence Project CECIL, focused on playwriting and the rewriting and adaptation of literary texts for theater and stage performance. It took place from 6 to 11 July 2026.
The international Summer School Hues of Writing (HoW) aims to strengthen writing competence and skills in different fields (journalism, scientific writing, writing for the web, creative writing).
The Summer School offers intensive writing courses and workshops led by established national and international professionals. The School also organises conferences and round tables, as well as fringe activities linked to the cultural life of Pisa (guided tours, cinema and theatre performances, etc.).
The 2024 edition of the Summer School Hues of Writing (HoW) focused on Scriptwriting for Theatre and TV Series and took place from 8 to 13 July 2024.
The 2025 edition focused on Scriptwriting for Theatre and took place from 7 to 12 July 2025.
The 2026 edition focused on Scriptwriting for Theatre and took from 6 to 11 July 2026.
The Summer School is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate university students, as well as professionals in the Humanities (PhD candidates, teachers, researchers, et c.).
School teachers, who may use their Carta Docente to cover fees, will find the Summer School available on the MIM platform SOFIA.
